Homeless but not Helpless...
Our mission is to provide homeless and at-risk youth the necessary services and resources they need to combat homelessness, and make a successful transition to self-sufficient living.
ODT will educate local businesses in the area on the advantages of hiring with criminals histories and also provide them with the information on the Federal Bonding Program, Work Opportunity Tax Credit, and the North Carolina DIvision of Workplace Development which also provides incentives on hiring individuals with criminal histories. Work with businesses to offer on the job training on a volunteer basis to help individuals learn a new skill.
Be a resident of Guilford County
Homeless or at risk of being homeless
No violent crimes or sex offenders
Be between the ages of 18-24

We will provide job readiness training to help prepare individuals to increase skills that are needed to obtain and stay gainfully employed in the following areas:
Employment search
Filling out applications
Resume and cover letter preparation
Mock interviews
Basic computer training
Job placement assistance
Business ownership guidance

EDUCATION
GED or high school diploma preparation
Continuing education of higher learning assisance
Finacial aid help
Provide information on local collefe resources
Assit with obtaining school or college transcripts
MENTOR PARTNERSHIPS
One-on-one counseling
Same gender matching with volunteer mentors
Healthy communications, boundaries and expectations training


CLOTHING AND FOOD ASSISTANCE
ODT will provide new or gently used clothing to those who compete the Job Readiness Training program, for interview purposes
Provide food assistance through our food bank and community organizations
Assist in applying for gov't assistance if needed
HOUSING ASSISTANCE
Obtain and maintain permanent, safe and affordable housing
Assist with first time home buying programs if eligible
Provide a list of property management, real estaste agencies, and landlords who rent to those with criminal records
Refer to public housing if applicable
